My policy on LLM / 'A.I.' use
Ever since ChatGPT took off in 2022 the rise of so-called artifical intelligence chatbots has been nigh unstoppable. Everyone and their mothers have gotten into the game, and OpenAi, Inc. has since been joined by the likes of Microsoft and Google with their own LLM-based 'A.I.' clients; not to mention the myriad of versions created by the community. 'A.I.' has not been without its share of controversy (en.wikipedia.org) which is why I choose not to employ it in any capacity on my website, or in my writing projects. While I recognize that 'A.I.' has several virtuous uses as a personal assistant, for me personally its controversial nature and the existential threat it poses far outweigh any benefit gained from its use; at least until the issues are rectified and appropriate regulation is devised, and imposed upon 'A.I.'
This is my pledge to keep Writing Back to Life 100% A.I. free. While I may occasionally use 'A.I.' in my personal life, I will never use it in any capacity to create content for this website. I have written and will continue to write everything on this website by myself. I will also not employ 'A.I.' to generate story prompts, ideas, et al. for the pieces that I write for this website (or otherwise, for that matter). After all, why should you bother reading my stories, if I couldn't be bothered to write them myself?
I also do not condone the use of any content on Writing Back to Life for the training of any 'A.I.' language model without my express permission to do so.
Signed,
Neb
